Music Mysteries With Mr. Alberici

What are all of the instruments that you are able to play?

I can play the saxophone, clarinet, flute, trumpet, trombone, French horn, drums, guitar, baritone horn, and a little bit of piano.

What other jobs have you had?

I once worked in a grocery store as a stock boy, and I used to work for a concrete company pouring foundations for large buildings

Have you lived anywhere exotic? Where?

Nowhere too exotic, but I lived in Boston for two years right on Commonwealth ave.

Did you have any jobs before becoming a teacher?

Yes, I worked for 9 months as a musician on a cruise ship. We traveled all over the Caribbean, and I played the saxophone in the ship band every nigh. What an adventure!

I also taught in a small school in Boston for 6 months. Boy what a disaster!

What made you want to become a teacher?

First, I have always loved music and knew very early that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life, and I was inspired by my music teacher in high school, Mr Studney.

What’s your favorite color?

my favorite color is green.

What’s your favorite animal?

I always love seeing deer and moose here in NH, and am always on the lookout for them. Did you know that I once saw a moose on the playground behind the school?

What is your favorite season?

My favorite season is fall. I wish we could have 12 months of October.

Do you have any pets? If so, what kind of pets?

Ohh... that's a tough one. We have cats at home so I’d have to say cats. I hate dogs though. Can’t stand them.

What college did you go to?

I went to three colleges. The first was Westfield State University for a bachelors degree. The second was New England Conservatory of Music for a masters degree. And the third was Boston University where I worked on a doctorate degree but have not yet completed.

If you hadn’t decided to be a teacher, what would you have been?

You know, I ask myself that all the time and i still don't have an answer. Being a music teacher was really my one and only plan in life.
